Michael Kleinman is the founder and CEO of Orange Door Research. Previously, he was Director of Investments at Humanity United, one of  The Omidyar Group philanthropies. He also served as the Program Operations Officer for International Relief and Development in Iraq, the Regional Advocacy Advisor for the CARE in East and Central Africa, the Sudan Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for CARE Sudan and South Sudan, and the Afghanistan Advocacy Coordinator for CARE Afghanistan.

His writing on development and human rights has been published in Vox, The Guardian, Stanford Social Innovation Review, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times, Baltimore Sun, Good Magazine and openDemocracy. He is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School.

Michael served on HRDAG’s Advisory Board from 2015 to 2021.
