María Juliana joined the HRDAG team in the Fall of 2022 as a Visiting Scholar. She supports all activities surrounding the publication and dissemination of one of HRDAG’s datasets, which was the result of our work with the Colombian Truth Commission and the JEP.

Prior to her position, María Juliana worked as a data analyst in the Truth Commission in Colombia, where she was in charge of quantitative analysis for the Human Rights Violations chapter of the Commission’s final report. 

María Juliana holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and has experience with research on issues of gender discrimination, armed conflict in Colombia and violence related to drug trafficking in the same country.

Our work has been used by truth commissions, international criminal tribunals, and non-governmental human rights organizations. We have worked with partners on projects on five continents.
