HRDAG’s Year in Review: 2020

When I reflect on 2020, a few words come to mind, words we seem to hear every day.

Truth.
Facts.
Existential.
Unprecedented.
Urgent.
Uncertainty.

These are confusing times, and we have no map to help us navigate the challenges of a global pandemic, racial injustice, and democracy in peril, all of which are happening simultaneously. HRDAG can’t solve every problem—but we’ve helped our community understand and navigate some of the uncertainty and urgent questions.

Our year in review, Beyond Statistics, highlights how we’ve been able to provide clarity on issues related to the pandemic and police misconduct, from an explainer about the reliability of Covid-19 testing results, to a preview of the work underway with regard to police behavior. If you wish, you can download Beyond Statistics as an 8-page PDF. We’re so grateful to our funders for supporting us as we hone our methods  and connect with  our community on important and urgent issues. I hope you enjoy the review! (Reviews from 2018 and 2019 are available online, too.)
