Telling the truth. Statistics in revealing patterns of violence

This document aims to explain how, in settings such as truth commissions, the use of statistical methods helps to overcome information gaps and thus reveal patterns of violence. This overcoming of gaps, along with the use of descriptive statistics, contributes to guaranteeing the right to truth for victims and society, as well as the rights to access public information, judicial protection, and the guarantee of non-discrimination.
