Will Taylor will be joining HRDAG as a Data Science Fellow in the summer of 2025. He is currently a doctoral student in political science and public policy at the University of Michigan.

Will’s research applies computational methods to the study of human rights. He employs theory and methods from international human rights studies to address historical and contemporary questions in the United States. Before beginning his doctorate, Will served as an analyst with the UNC School of Government Criminal Justice Innovation Lab, where he conducted policy evaluations, built dashboards and other computational tools, and assisted in developing Lab-wide data science standards.

Will holds a B.S. in Computer Science with a second major in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Our work has been used by truth commissions, international criminal tribunals, and non-governmental human rights organizations. We have worked with partners on projects on five continents.
