David Weir is a journalist, author and educator who co-founded the Center for Investigative Reporting; wrote for Rolling Stone, The Nation, Mother Jones, Salon, HotWired, The Economist, New West, California, 7X7, the San Francisco Examiner, New York Times and others; worked as a content executive at Wired Digital, Salon, Excite@Home and others; was Executive Vice President of KQED; taught journalism at Stanford, U-C Berkeley and SF State; wrote four books and won numerous awards including a National Magazine Award, an IRE Award, multiple Project Censored Awards, a Global 500 Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.

He began consulting with HRDAG on communications and outreach in 2022.

Our work has been used by truth commissions, international criminal tribunals, and non-governmental human rights organizations. We have worked with partners on projects on five continents.
