HRDAG Welcomes New Data Science Fellow
HRDAG is pleased to announce our newest Data Science Fellow, Will Taylor, who is currently a doctoral student in political science and public policy at the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining HRDAG, he served as an analyst with the UNC School of Government Criminal Justice Innovation Lab, where he conducted policy evaluations, built dashboards and other computational tools, and assisted in developing Lab-wide data science standards.
Will holds a B.S. in Computer Science with a second major in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. Part of his time this summer will be dedicated to The Reckoning Project, which shares many overlapping interests with HRDAG.
“I’m excited to work with a group of researchers that conduct their work with rigor, transparency, and an appreciation for the gravity of the subject matter,” says Will. “Through this fellowship I will continue to integrate these standards into my research efforts.”
“We’re delighted to train another Data Science Fellow and to continue to grow the field of data scientists who work at the intersection of statistics and human rights,” says Megan Price, HRDAG’s executive director. “We’re especially excited to learn more about The Reckoning Project as we work with Will this summer.”
